Props are a fantastic way to level up your senior photos! Read on to learn what props you can bring to your session to give it more flair and personality!

Sports gear/school clubs
Represent the communities you were a part of at your school! Whether it’s a sport, drama club, band, or class office, bringing a prop to recognize your commitment to these clubs can really level up your senior portraits. If you played baseball, bring a baseball bat or mit. If you did dance, bring your dance shoes, if you did class office, bring something that represents it! These sessions are to celebrate what you did during the past few years in school, so make sure you represent everything you loved during your time in school!

Things from your favorite hobbies
Even if you aren’t officially in a club or sport, but you have a hobby you really enjoy, you should showcase that, too! For example, Maddy plays the guitar, and she brought her guitar to her photo session! It made for some really fun photos showcasing her talent and hobby and helped further commemorate her accomplishments!

Props relating to what you want to study/do after you graduate
If you know what you’re going to study or in what field you want to work after school ends, bring something to showcase that! This can be anything you find representative of your future. If you’re going into nursing, bring a stethoscope! If you’re going to be a teacher, bring a book or an apple! If you’re joining the military, bring something that represents the branch you’re interested in joining. The possibilities are endless! This is a great way to capture what your current goals are and what your future may bring!

Sentimental items
We all have items that mean the world to us. I have a teddy bear my dad brought back from France when I was little (his name is Pierre, and he has a baret), and I have a silver heart/bell that my mom gave me to ring every time she went away without me so I could still feel her love even if she wasn’t around. These items have shaped my values and who I have become, and showing them off in senior photos would be a beautiful homage to who I was and who I’ve become. Bring something that is meaningful to you to showcase and honor the important people and memories in your life.

Class year symbols
Lastly, bring something to celebrate your class! This can be signs or balloons with your graduation year or date, class t-shirts, or anything else you have that represents your class! It’s always fun to have photos that commemorate your graduation year!

The possibilities are endless when it comes to props for senior photos! They truly give your senior portraits a boost and help to really show who you are! What props would you bring?
