What Colors Should I Wear?

The best colors are light neutrals (think white, cream, soft gray, light brown, etc.), denim, pastels, and fall colors. These all contrast nicely with the sunflower backdrop and will make you stand out!

What Colors Should I Not Wear?

Black, neon, and dark greens are what I would avoid. Blacks and neon create funky coloring when the sun hits them and they clash with the vibrant sunflowers. Dark greens will make you blend into the stems, where we want you to shine!

What shoes should I wear?

Comfortable shoes you can walk in. Flat sandals, cute sneakers, or boots. Remember, the sunflowers are in a field on a farm. Sometimes, the terrain is a bit uneven, so make sure you wear shoes that you feel comfortable walking in!

What shoes should I not wear?

High heels or other uncomfortable shoes. This is for the same reason as above, the fields can be a bit uneven, so you need to wear shoes that you won't get hurt in. Heels are pretty, but they aren't practical for a farm!

What kind of outfits do you recommend?

I recommend blue jeans and a top in any color I mentioned above, dresses, skirts, etc., and coordinated colors. For the most part, any style of clothing will look beautiful. If you're looking for a certain vibe, look for inspiration. I'm always available to help my clients choose outfits, as well! If you're in a small group, be sure to coordinate on a color scheme for more cohesion.

What outfits do you not go well?

Uncomfortable outfits, items you can't walk in, and mix-matched colors. The common thread throughout this blog is that you want to be comfortable and practical. I wouldn't recommend short skirts or tight clothing. Because sunflowers are already so vibrant, having too many colors could make for some chaos. If you're in a group, pick one or two colors that everyone incorporates. It helps make the photos more cohesive.
